Adding Image Profiles

In this tutorial we will explain how to create your Image Profiles.

The best way to explain what the image profiles are is to use our architecture website example. As we know, our hypothetical website has a 'Projects' section. Each project has number of images and each image will need to be available in, let's say, 3 different sizes - Thumbnail, Medium and Original

Now, if we create an image profile, and select it before uploading, all uploaded images would be automatically cropped to all sizes specified in an image profile.

Step 1. Go to 'Image Profiles' from top menu

If you enter there for the first time, it will look like this:

Note, 'No Resize' is a default profile which is applied automatically to any image you upload. If you choose this profile, image will not be cropped.

Step 2. Click 'Add image profile'

Name your profile as 'Project'. Leave Limit size as 0 (which means there is no custom upload limit size)

Step 3. Click 'Add Size' from the menu on the right

Add couple of sizes and label them appropriately as below:

Below is an example of an image profile with two sizes:

Step 4. Click 'Save'

If everything went well, your newly created profile will be displayed on Image Profiles home page, as below:

Step 5. Go to Using Image Profiles

In the next tutorial you will learn how to appy an image profile to the image(s).
